Colombia is the most dangerous country in the world to be a trade union member. Thousands of our colleagues in that country have been murdered for joining a union or speaking out about poor wages or working conditions. Please join us from 16.00 onwards on Friday 2nd December, Sandinista! 2 Old Bank Street, off St Anne’s Sq, Manchester, M2 7PF. Arrive early for complimentary drinks
The speaker will be Rosalba Gaviria who is a former political prisoner and member of the Fensuagro agricultural workers trade union. Since 1986 over 2,700 trade union activists have been assassinated in Colombia. Last year alone 40 trade union leaders were killed – more than in the rest of the world combined.
