*The Mala Vista Social Club is a new non-profit project between the UK and Cuba to promote cultural exchange, all the way from grassroots/community culture to professional artists. It aims to provide an alternative to commercial routes for UK and Cuban artists as well as show how culture builds communities. It is supported by the Manchester Cuban Solidarity Campaign, the Cuban Embassy and the Cuban Ministry of Culture.
Red Eye Hi Fi is a sound system and musical collective based in Manchester and dedicated to providing quality productions, electric DJ sets of all styles, and ground-shaking bass as well as spreading a positive musical message to the people of the UK.
The two groups have been developing the project for the past year, and funds raised on the night will go towards taking performing and recording equipment to Havana to set up the first joint cultural projects with artists in the MVSC.
Fundraising target £1000!
