The working title is - Building a Better World – People, Participation and Politics in Latin America Now! We want to look at alternative social models to neoliberalism, and the forms of organisation that governments, collectives, resistance groups are taking there. The event will take place on the 26th January in the Friends Meeting House.
We’re hoping that amongst awareness raising, it will be an opportunity to bring together the diverse LA groups & individuals here (it’s too disparate at the moment, and we need to really support each other), and to educate and inspire our own struggles at home!
In the morning there’ll be sessions on Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Bolivia, Central America; in the afternoon there’ll be theme-based sessions on participation (in economy and government), wellbeing, community and culture and resistance.
